were able to get out of this s u v. the driver was arrested for driving under the influence. you can see the passenger area of the dodge is partially collapsed it is amazing they were walking out of there. the vehicle broke through the concrete guard rail on the appian way overpass. kron4's maureen kelly gives us an up close view. >> take a look at what is left of this dodge. you can see the front hood is partially peeled back and the wind chill it has been completely smashed in. on the driver's side, the windshield -- has been completely smashed and that large gash in the driver's side door. you get a better idea of the impact of that crash. take a look at this angle it appears to be cut

a slant. the passenger side, luckily nobody was in the back seat because they could have been crushed. over here is the front passenger seat and amazingly, there were two people inside this vehicle when it fell. both of them are able to get out of the vehicle and walked away. only minor injuries unassisted but that meant walking right into county jail she has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. maureen kelly, kron 4. >> today, it is 18 years of the san francisco police officer was shot to death by a carjacking in 1994. police say that he was the first to arrive on the scene when he found in had begun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. james guelff
